*Please do this as soon as possible to increase your chances of getting a placement. Delay in this would reduce your chances to get a good company. As each company has limitation in a number of intake.

*NOTE: you are allowed to apply as many company as possible BUT once you have received an offer letter from the company, please reply "Accept" as soon as possible if you decide to do the EIT there.

Announcement: Due to system error some of the data was not downloaded, thus for those who have filled in the online form before 1/12/2015, please fill it in once again. We are sorry for this unexpected inconvenient.




Option 1: The company is NOT in the approved list

Please fill in the shortlisted company HARD COPY form (manual form) (wisely choose the 5 companies) . Make sure these NEW companies provide an Industrial Training. Refer to your PC for further details.

Please be reminded that you need to submit a Turnitin report along with your EIT report. Your EIT report submission therefore will consist of the following:
  1. Softcopy of full Turnitin report with highlighted similarity;
  2. Softcopy of Turnitin receipt;
  3. Softcopy of full EIT report (final report must have similarity of 30% or less); and
  4. Hardcopy of full EIT report with the similarity result (originality report) page only

Assalamu’alaikum
Dear brothers and sisters

Please be informed that the normal staff (Madam Roslina) who is in charge of the  EIT Administration Office will be on leave from 27/5/2015 until 2/6/2015.

In the light of the above, you are advised to take note on the following matters:-

1) RECEIVING OFFER FROM COMPANY
- please inform the company directly (and if possible immediately) whether you agree/not agree to accept the offer
- fill-in the EIT Acceptance Form and obtain your EIT Programme Coordinator’s signature > then submit to EIT Unit. Put your form in the EIT INBOX placed at EIT counter or at ACADEMIC AFFAIRS counter.

2) 3 LETTERS
The 3 letters are:-
i) confirmation on takaful/insurance coverage
ii) indemnity letter
iii) letter of reporting for duty

- students must submit these 3 letters to company on the 1st day of reporting for duty.
- the above 3 letters will be prepared by EIT Unit after EIT Acceptance Form is submitted to EIT Unit.
- students who have not received yet the 3 letters – please check the EIT box (usually placed for supporting letters) on 3/june or 4/june or 5/june.
- if the students need to report duty earlier than 8/june and the 3 letters are not ready yet, please email and inform Madam Roslina at roslina.m@iium.edu.my .
- students who will return back earlier to home town and your 3 letters are still not ready yet, please inform Madam Roslina at roslina.m@iium.edu.my stating that you need the letters through e-mail. The 3 letters will be sent to you on 3/June or 4/June or 5/June.

3) Supporting letter and LIDV letter– students who still need these letters, please get the letters from the following staff at the Office of Dep. Dean (Academic Affairs):-

The Upskilling & Graduate Employability Management Scheme (GEMS) 2.0 are programmes offered by TalentCorp & the Ministry of Education.

Propel Network Sdn Bhd provides Radio Frequency (RF) network planning & optimization, and highly advanced systems to the wireless communication industry, namely in LTE, WiMAX, 3G, 2G and other communication technologies. This internship programme is offered to students of engineering, computer science, and information technology for placement in Selangor (HQ) and the rest of Malaysia.

Responsibilities
During the internship period, the students will be exposed to these areas:
(Engineering)
  • Utilization of RF drive test tools to collect and analyse WiMAX, 3G, 2G networks.
  • Test criteria in ensuring quality of wireless networks.
  • Techniques to optimize and improve wireless network quality.
  • Conduct RF design for system integration (3G to LTE).
  • Link budget analysis & calculation for in-building system.
  • Conduct RF planning, analysis, optimization work for Japan LTE Network.
  • Generating the required reports based on standard template for submission to customer.
  • Coordinate team member to ensure all work are carried out accordingly.

(Computer science/information technology)
  • Design and maintain software architecture for our web applications and databases.
  • Develop tool and software related to RF and Radio Network Roll-out.
  • Develop new internal and external web applications in close conjunction with other members of the development team, in which everyone takes part in different aspects of software development: analysis, design, implementation and testing.
  • Will work with numerous advanced techniques and in different domains: Visual Basic .NET, ASP.NET.
  • Maintain and install computer systems and managing tools.

Requirements
The candidate must possess or be currently pursuing a Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunications/Networking) or equivalent.
  • Required skill(s): Wireless communications.
  • Knowledge about development in ASP.NET and Visual Basic.
  • Knowledge about Macro, Microsoft Excel, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English.
  • Preferred language(s): Korean, Chinese.
  • Must be willing to work at HQ and rest of Malaysia.
  • Duration of internship is 3 months, for local students only.
  • Allowance offered RM400.00 and overtime allowance.
  • Driving Licence (D).
